About 2 weeks into our trip, I decided to venture out alone to have lunch and a shopping day. Everyone was at the beach, and I wanted to have time for myself since I had been with a group for so long. I love hanging out with the group, but sometimes I need to be alone and relax because my social batter runs out. I researched ramen restaurants near me and decided to go to Takumi Tonkotsu Ramen at Glories. It looked delicious and well-priced. After deciding my destination I headed to the metro. This was the first time that I was on the metro by myself. I immediately got on the wrong train and panicked then got off at the next stop. I laughed at myself and got on the correct one. I got off the metro and walked around 10 minutes to the restaurant. The atmosphere was cool and vibey. I ordered spicy ramen with kimchi. This ramen was one of the best bowls I have ever eaten. It was rich and fulfilling. I then decided to do a little shopping in Glories. I made my way there with directions and first went to H&M. There a bought a beautiful black dress that I loved. I went into many shops and looked around for anything that caught my eye. After shopping for around 2 hours I finally decided that it was time to head back to Beyoo. I think this little adventure showed me many benefits of living in Barcelona. I felt so free and comfortable walking around a big city by myself. I did not have to worry about getting lost because I felt comfortable with where I was going. The independence I felt was uplifting, and I think that everyone should be able to have that feeling once in their life. I was able to fall in love with Barcelona and its culture. I would never have the guts to walk around Chattanooga without feeling unsafe, but this city is different and it feels like home. I have enjoyed my time there and can’t wait to return as soon as possible.
